F/Sgt Alan Stripp
Wireless Operator – Flight Sergeant Alan James Stripp DFM RAF (569426), aged 22, of ? Surrey. 30th April 1942. Son of Arthur James Stripp and Lily Emma Stripp, his birth was registered in the Kingston district of Surrey in 1919. . He was buried in Reigate Cemetery, Surrey. Alan Stripp’s DFM was awarded for service with 69 Squadron in Malta, Gazetted on 26th September 1941, no citation has been found as yet.
69 Squadron was based in Malta, and it carried out strategic reconnaissance missions mainly using Marylands until May 1942 when Spitfires began to carry out all reconnaissance missions.
